Donald Trump the demagogue in the proto fascist state of degeneration has "called for a total and complete shutdown of Muslims entering the United States of America until our country can figure out what is going on..." He has previously argued for compulsory registration of all Muslim Americans. He has been mouthing hate against Mexicans for months. He is insane. Though I am not an American, I want to take the liberty of mimicking the wonderful sentiment in the inimitable words of a bystander following the stabbings by Muhahydin Mire at a London Underground station that the prosecutors say was a terrorist act; and  I want to shout across the 49th Parallel: "You ain't no American, bruv Furor Trump."

I never thought I would see the day when I would cheer Dick Cheney for anything including criticising Trump or Jeb Bush calling him "unhinged." I am reminded of the inscription on the iconic Statue of Liberty: "Give me your tired, your poor, Your huddled masses ...'. The inscription carries no mention of the religion of those seeking refuge in the United States of America. While the fear of terrorism is real and it has unhinged Trump, we can't forget that we are not at war with Islam; only with ISIS that according to the Pew research Center is disliked by most in Muslim countries.
